Dean Winstanley takes to the Blackpool World Matchplay stage again this evening (Thurs 26th July), after his amazing comeback and win in round 1 against the Scot Gary Anderson.

Dean is a slight favourite with the bookies in his 2nd round game against Ronnie ‘the Rocket’ Baxter, but just like round 1, Dean knows he’s in for another battle.  All his fans will hope he will make it a little easier for them though, and start better tonight!  Giving Gary Anderson a 5-0 lead didn’t make for an easy time.

Dean has been relaxing between the games, spending time with his manager Matt Ward and fellow darts pro and friend Justin Pipe – they hit the Blackpool entertainments yesterday with their own Crazy Golf Blackpool Open!

Dean has a while to wait for his game tonight, I’m sure he’ll use the time to practice the doubles (his scoring is always awesome!), and maybe watch a little of his mate Justin Pipe’s game against Wes Newton.

We will update Dean’s scores as the game goes on later tonight!

Thursday July 26 – Second Round – Betting via William Hill (£25 free matched bet)

Dean Winstanley (93.6 ave) 8-13 Ronnie Baxter (93.23 ave)

Unfortunately too many missed doubles cost Dean the game, as his scoring was his usual fantastic level, with 9x 180s.

Dean is featured in the fun PDC video below which was recorded at the start of the Matchplay – but is he meant to be The Hoff?
